The bridge of a single-arm gantry crane is supported on a ground track or foundation by legs on both sides. It runs along the ground track and can pass railway vehicles or other ground vehicles below. A gantry crane with a rotatable lifting device (referred to as the rotating part) installed on the gantry frame. The four legs of the gantry frame form four "doorways" for railway vehicles and other vehicles to pass through. Most gantry cranes run along the crane track on the ground or on buildings to carry out lifting and loading and unloading operations. Semi-gantry cranes, that is, one side of its running track is set on the ground, and the other side is set on a building above the ground.
Product classification:
According to the purpose, it can be divided into 3 categories:
1. Loading and unloading gantry crane: mainly used in ports and open-air stockpiles, loading and unloading with grabs or hooks. The lifting capacity generally does not exceed *5 tons and does not change with the amplitude. The working speed is relatively high, so productivity is often an important indicator.
2. Portal crane for shipbuilding: mainly used for ship slipways, floating docks and outfitting sites for hull splicing, equipment outfitting and other lifting work, with hooks as lifting tools. The lifting capacity is up to **0 tons, and the lifting capacity is reduced accordingly when the amplitude is large. There are multiple lifting speeds, and the lifting speed can be increased when the lifting weight is light. Some working mechanisms are also equipped with micro-motion devices to meet installation requirements. The ones with large portal height can adapt to the requirements of large lifting height and large-amplitude operations, but the working speed is low and the operation productivity is not high.
3. Portal crane for construction installation: mainly used in hydropower stations for dam pouring, equipment and prefabricated parts lifting, etc., generally with hooks. The lifting capacity and working speed are generally between the first two types of cranes. It has the characteristics of good assembly and disassembly and transportation of the whole machine, large lowering depth of the lifting tool, and can better adapt to temporary work and work on the pier.
