A thermocouple is a temperature element commonly used in
temperature gauges that measures temperature directly and converts
the temperature signal into a thermoelectric actuator signal, which
is then passed through an electrical gauge (secondary gauge) to
convert the temperature of the substance being measured. The basic
structure of thermocouples is similar, and usually consists of
thermoelectrodes, insulation tubes, wiring boxes and other main
parts. They are usually equipped with indicators, recorders and
electronic regulators. The features of thermoelectric generators
include wide programmability, high accuracy, easy operation, strong
durability and fast response. These features make thermal equipment
widely applicable in the industrial field.
1. There are many types of thermocouples. The most common are
standard thermocouples and non-standard thermocouples. Among them,
the K-type thermocouple is a metal thermocouple with strong aerosol
resistance, the median temperature of which can be measured from 0
to 1300°C, and it is suitable for continuous use in aerosol and
inert gases. However, K-type thermocouples are not suitable for use
in vacuum, sulfur-containing, carbon-containing atmospheres and in
bare earth atmospheres with aerobic replacement. In addition, the
advantages of thermoelectric couplings include high measurement
accuracy, wide measurement range, simple construction and ease of
use.
2.Thermoelectric couple is based on the principle of a plug effect.
When two different material conductors are combined into a closed
circuit, current flows through the circuit when the two ends have a
certain temperature difference. Electricity--thermoelectricity. The
magnitude of this electricity depends on the properties of the
material itself and the temperature at which it is generated. It
can be divided into two parts: contact electricity and temperature
difference electricity. Contact potential is the potential
difference caused by electron diffusion at the terminals due to the
difference in the free electron densities of two conductors;
temperature difference potential is caused by the difference in the
free electron densities at the two ends of a metal conductor due to
the difference in temperature.
