Tall Oaks, Inc. is a family business founded on February *0, ***9. We wanted to create a place where we could develop ideas and inventions into useful products as our way of contributing to the fabric and evolution of mankind. Our passion was on concepts we fell in love with when we were introduced to them, or on some things we came to know through working world wide, and felt they had room for technical improvement.

Mangrove Hardwood Artisan Charcoal: I found this traditional product during one of my travels and was very impressed with its performance. I immediately thought of it as the ideal companion to our great grills & smokers here at home. So I started to dig deeper into the making of it and discovered the artisan way of charcoal making, refined over millennia and so different from our industrial production processes. Of course it starts with the wood—hardwood has a higher structural density than softwood. Typically, mangrove trees are coppiced (not clear cut and roots pulled), which allows for natural regeneration of the forest. And then the kiln masters work their magic with their crews, all by hand.

Outlook on things to come within the next months:

Concrete Crack Water Intrusion Repair: We stop water from leaking through cracks in concrete structures for the life of the structure. This problem is serious and requires a serious solution which we provide. Water leakage into valuable below grade building space usually results in loss of the use of that space, initiates mold and mildew growth, deteriorates the structure, and worse. Cracks develop into concrete structures soon or later due to earth movements, vibrations, or inadequate design.  Early thinking was simply to push some material into the crack! I started to think differently—asking myself is this the best there is   So I took the challenge and put my mechanical engineering knowledge to work. It took some time to invent, develop, and test a better system. The system injects chemicals with a uniquely designed high pressure pumping system deep into the crack. The chemicals form a permanent flexible and sticky gel deep inside the crack to stop the water leaking for the life of the structure. Now over **0 rehabilitation projects of all kinds and sizes have been completed with **0% success.

Ceramic Surface Coating Systems: Ceramic Cover Systems have many uses.  Some are for the looks; some improve certain properties of the paint, or other binding materials they are mixed into. But to me—having worked in industries worldwide all my life with high temperature media which needed to be thermally insulated—the most striking application is to replace four inches of Styrofoam with the thickness of a credit card of ceramic coating.  And this is not only achieving the first objective of keeping hot things hot and cold things cold, it also protects from corrosion, reduces space requirements, and is easy to apply (spraying), and more.  While the original purpose was to solve a high temperature heating issue—protecting the NASA space shuttle craft during reentry from burning up—it has been fully tested and found to be very useful in numerous industrial applications, it works efficiently to insulate residential and commercial buildings application with tremendous success as well.
