Needless to mention that Stretch film is the only way to unitise and protect products during storage and shipment. LDPE based heat shrinkable films and EVA based stretch hoods are also used. But the main advantage of stretch film is that it can be used to wrap irregular loads (in contrast with shrink / stretch hoods) without hassles and with a minimum effort (even by hand). Also the investment in the machinery to apply stretch film is much lower than shrink and stretch hoods.
