Trenk Coffee Estates Limited

Trenk Coffee Estates Limited is a family business founded by the family patriach, Trenk Wekesa, who planted a few coffee bushes on the family farm in the western  region of Kenya, Bungoma County. The coffee bushes ware on a small farm because there had been a goverment restriction on planting of coffee by the colonial government.

After Kenya gained independence the government removed the restrictions on the planting of coffee by indeginious Kenyans, Mr. Trenk added more coffee stems and expanded his coffee farming venture. Trenk ran the farm with the help of his large family upto the late nineties then retired and left the running of the business to his son Walter.

Walter Trenk on his part decided to modernize the coffee farming business by opening an office in Nairobi and taking a coffee dealership license in order to access the international coffee market and improve the quality of the farm and the business generally.
The business has therefore been in existance for the last halh century and is still growing stronger. We now deal with coffee beans from our farm in Bungoma County and also purchase extra coffee from the Nairobi Coffee Exchange whenerver the orders are bigger than what is available on our farm.
