CM Alginate Dressing is a sterile, latex-free Calcium Alginate Dressing CM Alginate is a soft, highly absorbent dressing that quickly forms a hydrophilic gel to protect and cover the wound bed. Outstanding absorbent capacity for fewer dressing changes, help create a moist wound healing environment, enhances patient comfort. Description: 1. Latex-free, sterile and individually packed 2. Forms a hydrophilic gel 3. Holds its form even when wet 4. Easy to remove Indications: Alginate is indicated for the management of moderate to heavily exudates chronic wounds (pressure ulcers, leg ulcers, venous stasis ulcers, diabetic ulcers, arterial ulcers ) and to control minor bleeding in superficial acute wounds (abrasions, lacerations, donor sites, post operative wounds) Precautions: 1. Alginate is not indicated for 3rd-degree burns and surgical implantation 2. Alginate is not intended to control heavy bleeding. Instructions for Use: 1. Site preparation: debride when necessary and irrigate the wound site with a suitable wound cleanser. 2. Dressing selection: select a size of Alginate wound dressing that is slightly larger than the wound. 3. Cut the dressing or fold the dressing if necessary, and apply the dressing onto wound, cover and secure Alginate with a secondary dressing, such like Fix or Film. 4. Change and removal: gently remove the secondary dressing, if the wound appears dry, saturate the dressing prior to removal, lightly remove the dressing from wound bed and discard.
