The History of AGRICHEM TRADING SA Group

The company is a group and family owned business,  was founded in ***3 by the late Dr. Bill Smith together with his two brothers Fahribach and  Krugler, the company began operations from a small scale at Pietermaritzburg. After successfully installing and commissioning of the company export and supply demand increase from $5.8 million to $7.8 million per year.

In ***4 the company moves from its origin in Pietermaritzburg to a larger space warehouse in Northern Cape where the new space cover ****0 to *****0 meter square. The warehouse has new technologies with special equipment, largely automated and the most cost-efficient plant at the time. In fact, it was the third largest warehouse in South Africa.

AGRICHEM TRADING SA Group opened its international export doors *2 years ago and has grown to become South Africa’s largest exporters as well as one of the leading competitors in the South African FMCG market.

The group operates across South Africa, US, Canada, Australia, EU with different manufacturer that produce wide range of products encompasses edible oils, baking and dairy products, pulse, edible nuts, fruits and fruits juice, grains, vegetables etc and inorganic and organic chemicals products.

Well-known brands include, among others, which is manufactured under a joint venture. This new warehouse bears testament to the group’s commitment to seeking fresh opportunities and developing new quality export and supply products that are consistent with its ethos.

Key to the group’s success are the sound foundations of service excellence, continued investment in technology and human resources and the hands-on involvement of the directors in the day-to-day running of the business.
