Shona sculpture is a unique
art form for which Zimbabwe is well known around the
world. The Shona people are the oldest tribe in Zimbabwe and
are believed to be the legendary guardians of King Solomon's
mines. Our solid stone, hand-carved pieces have been made for
almost a thousand years with traditional African culture
being the primary source of inspiration. Mythology,
folklore, rituals, women, the natural world and deeply-held
spiritual beliefs are immortalised in stone that is often millions
of years old.
