The Niue Honey Company

We are pleased to advise you that the Niue Honey Company currently has medium amber liquid honey from Niue available for purchase. The honey is **0% pure, raw, natural honey from the flowers of coconut palms and other jungle trees and plants, including the medicinal shrub nonu. Niue is a self governing island nation located in the South Pacific Ocean and is in free association with New Zealand. It is a beautiful, isolated island over **0 km from the nearest neighbour. Although established in the ***0s, The Niue Honey Company was bought by us in ***9. Since our involvement we have been able to quadruple the number of hives from **0 to 1, **0 and retain two full-time and one part-time local staff. Due to the isolation and small population of the island and absence of mechanised farming the soil and atmosphere are very clean. The bees are really gathering from the wild and scientific residue testing of the bee products has always given extremely low results. We are also fortunate that there is no varroa mite on Niue and we have never used insecticides, antibiotics or antifungal agents in our production. Indeed, we have previously obtained organic certification but due to poor weather conditions in ******4 that was temporarily halted to allow the hives to recover. We are currently applying for the BioGro NZ organic certification to be restored. Additionally, the landowners of all our hive sites have a share of the honey volume produced on their land. We are very committed to the philosophy of sustainable honey production and local crop pollination as well as returning some of the profits back to the local community.
