The Warrior Mountains tour package is one of 5 themed journeys under the Maori Journeys brand and is being showcased to the global market as a feature tour experience for its inaugural ***7/***8 tour season. At the launch a selection of new photographic images was unveiled charting the legend from the creation story of Papa-tu-a-nuku and Rangi-nui-a-tea to the retreat of Taranaki to the west coast of the North Island after his mighty battle with Tongariro. Cutting edge imagery utilizing human models depicted as living, breathing landscapes in conjunction with images of the actual geographical landscapes represented by the models was well received by those present. The Warrior Mountains theme was further supported by a DVD slideshow complete with *5 images, soundtrack and a live theatrical stage performance consisting of music, dance and narration. Many of the guests were captivated and visibly moved by the end of the show. The Warrior Mountains is a 7 day branded tour linking 5 North Island regions, Rotorua, Taupo, Central Plateau, the Whanganui River and Taranaki. Major highlights of the tour are the tribal storytellers from each of the regions who will relay the story of their mountain, giving a unique and authentic insight into local Maori history and culture to visitors. The blending of indigenous legends and storytelling brings the Warrior Mountains to life creating a living, breathing landscape. Several of the tribal storytellers were present at the launch as were the regional Maori tourism operators involved in showcasing the legend en route. The tour begins in Rotorua at Mount Tarawera and ends in the shadow of Mount Taranaki with a live theatrical performance of the legend following a themed indigenous banquet. Press Release Ends
