Science is the blessing of all time that has again proved to be a well-wisher of the humanity. At last, the fusion of experiments have driven out all the frustration of the people when facing charging problems of smart phones, GPRS, camera and other chargeable devices while hanging out or at the nick of departure.
The credit all goes to Solar T-shirt panel members, who have initiated this project after wearable solar. The prototype Solar T-Shirts are designed under the joint venture of Holst Centre, TNO and popular fashion designer Pauline van Dongen. The Shirt will combine the essence of both futuristic and fashion altogether. It is mainly equipped with tiny solar panels along with adjustable electronics panel which is attractive enough to make it as a unique fashion outfit/to meet the fashion trends, which can be dressed regularly in order to keep all the portable devices charged instantly. These T-shirts produce energy through 120 thin-film solar cells which is firmly tied with the fabric of it. In the case of sunny days, the Solar T-Shirts can produce up to 1W of Power, which is more adequate to get your phones charged within few hours. These hi-tech with high-fashion T-shirts enable the wearer to keep their all portable belongings charged so that they can easily use them when required. It can easily charge number of devices such as MP3 players, Smartphones, cameras, GPRS and other handy devices having USB supported. After charging all of the devices, the T-Shirts will then store or save up all the power in the battery pack of the Shirt for future instances.
The project is the chain of research program based on wearable applications which primary consist of various functionalities such as LED lightening, sensors, power-supply system and display in different textile fabrics or other non-rigid stuffs.
However, the solar cells attached with the textile can easily be produced in a bulk quantity through well-organized manner, by way of different compatible methods in order to strictly mingle it with the fabric via well versed Industrial process named "iron-on" method, before clothes move towards final stitching. The dream of creating solar t-shirt has become reality due to the creative approach of Pauline van Dongen, a reputable name and a forge in designing the garments based on technology. However, the sophisticated technology of Holst Centre' make it possible to integrate the fashion and solar technology all together to form unique Solar T-shirts. The increasing level of innovation depicts that in upcoming phases, the futuristic wearable will bring various functionalities by staying under accessible production infrastructure.
