Carbon disulfide as crude product contains a trace quantity of sulfur, hydrogen sulfide, or other impurities, appears pale yellow, and has a pungent odor. It is highly volatile, with volatility 1.6 times higher than ether. Inflammable, carbon disulfide has an auto-ignition temperature of **0℃ and a flash point of **0℃. Additionally, the chemical is poisonous and harmful to organisms
FUNCTIONS:The most important use of carbon disulfide is to make viscose rayon and viscose stable fiber, accounting for *5% of the gross amount. Carbon disulfide used for making cellophane accounts for 5% of the gross amount;, less than *0% of carbon disulfide is used in carbon tetrachloride; and the rest is used in chemical engineering, rubber, flotation agent, agricultural chemicals, pharmaceuticals, dyes, and petroleum industry. In addition, carbon disulfide and its derivatives are used to make solvents, extractants, pre-curing catalysts, and chemical reagents etc.
