Chlorinated polyvinyl
chloride (CPVC), also known as Chlorinated PVC resin, is a new
synthetic polymer material produced by a
substitution reaction
between a specific brand of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and chlorine
under the action of initiating. It is a white or
slightly yellow
flowable solid powder. The basic properties are similar to PVC, but
the heat resistance, physical and mechanical properties, chemical
stability and flame retardant properties of CPVC, which is made
after PVC resin has been modified by chlorination, have been
significantly improved. It is a high-quality and low-cost product.
Used in coatings and adhesives, it has excellent solvent
properties, good electrical insulation, thermoplastic and
film-forming properties, extremely stable chemical properties,
corrosion
resistance, water
resistance, not easy to burn, and can be dissolved in ketones,
chlorinated hydrocarbons, aromatic hydrocarbons,
esters and some
alcohols.
