Copper sulfate 
Properties: 
CuSo4.5H2O is dark blue crystals or dark powers, poisonous and non-smell, with the astringency of metal. It has a *4% to *5% content of cuprum, a relative density of 2.**4 and tends to dehydrated into white powers in dry air. It is soluble in water, alcohol, glycerine and liquid amine, with acidity. When heated to *0 º C, it will lose its crystal water, and become white anhydrous substance, and when continued to be heated to **1 º C, it will decompose to sulfur dioxide and oxygen and cupric oxide, which is black. 

Application 
Copper sulphate is a very versatile chemical with as extensive a range of uses in agriculture, chemical, feeding industyies, etc. 
(1). Copper sulfate is mostly used in the manufacture of copper salt such as copper chloride, cuprous chloride and cuprous oxide. 
(2). In the dyestuff industry, it's used in the prodection of copper sheet azo dyes. Such as blue complexing agent. Also in organic synthesis, spices and dye intermediates of catalysts. And it's also widely used in dye as mordant, pigment, preservative, etc. 
(3). The metal industry uses large quantities of copper sulphate as an electrolyte in copper refining, for copper coating steel wire prior to wire drawing and in various copper plating processes. 
(4). Manufacture of insecticides and fungicides in agriculture. 
(5). As a feed avctive to correct the copper deficiency. 
(6). It's used in printing trade as an electrolyte in the production of electrotype and as an etching agent for process engraving. 
(7). It's used in mining industry as an activator in the concentration by froth flotation of lead, zinc, cobalt and gold ores. 
(8). Preparation of Bordeaux and Burgundy mixture
