 Description:

White odorless powder or crystalline solid partics, with special sourness that is as strong as 1.5 times of crtric acid. It is soluble in ethanol(5.*6g/**0g,*0°C), slightly soluble in water(0.*3g/**0ml,*5°C) and in other, and very slightly soluble in chloroform. It has no hygroscopicity, and will sublime at **0°C. Boiling point:**0°C(decompose). It will turn to malefic anhydride at **0°C, and will generate DL-malic acid if boiled with water.

Usage:

Used as an acidulant, fumaric acid has bacteriostatic and antiseptic function. It also can be used as acidity regulator, acidifier, thermal-oxidative resist anxiliary, curing accelerant and spice. Used as acidic substance of effervescent agent, it can produce extended and exquisite bubbles.

Fumaric acid can be used as pharmaceutical intermediate and optical bleaching agent. In pharmaceutical industry, it si used to produce alexipharmic sodium dimercaptosuccinate and ferrous fumarate. Fumaric acid is also used in manufacturing unsaturated polyester resin.

Storage & Shelf Life:

Fumaric acid should be stored in a cool place. Fumaric acid can be stored for a year in original packages under the described conditions.
