Heat stabilizer is mainly used in the processing of PVC to prevent PVC from decomposation under high temperature. Heat stabilizers include the following types: mixed metal stabilizers; tin (organotin) stabilizers, and epoxy co-stabilizers. Barium/Zinc can be used in many PVC compounds as substitutes for cadmium containing stabilizers. Barium/Zinc and Calcium/Zinc heat stabilizers can also be used in wire and cable jacket compounds as a substitute for lead containing stabilizers. Organo tin stabilizers provide protection during calendering, extrusion and injection molding of rigid PVC. It provide good initial color, and good long term heat stability.
