T cell immunoglobulin and mucin domain molecule 3 (T cell immunoglobulin and mucin domain*3, Tim*3), also known as HAVCR2, is a member of the immunomodulatory molecule TIM family and is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein of *0 kD molecular weight . Mature human Tim*3 is composed of **1aa extracellular region, *1aa transmembrane region, and *8aa cytoplasmic region. Tim*3 is one of the important members of the T-cell immunoglobulin molecule family and is a key molecule expressed by activated Th1 cells that regulates CD4 + CD*5 + regulatory T (TR) cells. Th1 cells express full-length membrane Tim3 (flTim3) and soluble Tim3 (sTim3) by selective splicing of mRNA. Tim*3 is mainly expressed in differentiated and mature Th1 cells, and its ligand galectin*9 can down-regulate Th*-type cellular immune response.
