Brief introduction:
Hydroxypropyl Beta
Cyclodextrin (HPBCD) comes from Beta Cyclodextrin (BCD) by adding
propylene oxide to some of the hydroxyl groups of BCD.
This modification results in greater solubility compared to
BCD.
Therefore, HPBCD is used in applications where the solubility of
BCD is not sufficiently high and in applications where faster
dissolution rates are needed.
