The low thermal-conductivity magnesia alumina spinel bricks DDRML**0 developed by our group are made up of low thermal-conductivity magnesia alumina spinels synthesized through advanced technic. Compared with the magnesia alumina spinel bricks, this product has such performance as corrosion-resistance, flush-resistance, thermal-shock-resistance, low density, low thermal-conductivity, environmental protection and energy conservation, with the same corrosion-resistance and abrasion-resistance.

With good corrosion-resistance, flush-resistance and thermal-shock-resistance, magnesia alumina spinel bricks and silicon mullite bricks were extensively applied in transitional zones of cement kilns. The unstable quality of bauxite causes the quality fluctuation of silicon mullite bricks and unnecessary loss to customers. Though with good performance, magnesia alumina spinel bricks have a high thermal-conductivity, which leads to a high surface temperature of transitional zones, a big kiln load and a big mechanical stress on kiln lining.

Compared with magnesia alumina spinel bricks, the new low thermal-conductivity magnesia alumina spinel bricks DDRML**0 developed by our group decrease the density, the thermal-conductivity, the kiln load and the mechanical stress, have a long working life, conserve energy and reduce consumption.

Take theø4.8×*0m rotary kilns for example. The refractory can decrease by 6.**4 tons per *0m and the kiln load can also decrease by 6.**4 tons. *2,**0RMB can be saved per *0m in 5,**0RMB/t. Under the same condition and using the hot-wire method at **0, the thermal-conductivity of magnesia alumina spinel bricks is 4.*2w/mk, while that of the low thermal-conductivity magnesia alumina spinel bricks is 3.*4w/mk. The low thermal-conductivity magnesia alumina spinel bricks can reduce the thermal-dissipation and conserve energy in respect of thermal-conductivity.
