Pfaffia Glomerta, also known as Suma, is a plant native to Brazil
and harvested throughout the country. It is **0% wildcrafted,
but carefully monitored to ensure sustainability. Also known
as Brazilian Ginseng or 'para tudo' in Portugues (which translates
to 'for everything') it a commonly used herb supplement throughout
Brazil.
The common use of this brought about my scientific studies.
Extensive tests were able to isolate saponins and
ecdysterones. Saponins act as adjuvents, allowing nutrients to
penetrate cell walls. Ecdysterones are similar in their
action to assist in cell membrane absorption. Ecdysterones are
particularly effective adjuvents for proteins however, lending
themselves to aiding in the increase of muscle mass.
Pfaffia is available in rough cut (for extraction), tea cut (for
loose and bagged teas, and powder (for capsules and tablets) forms.
An extract standardized to ecdysterones is under development
at this time, but not commercially available.
