Product Description

Yerba Mate, aka 'Mate' is known around the world as the green tea of southern South America.  Cultivated and wildcrafted, this plant grows throughout the mid-altitude ranges of southern South America and is highly sustainable due to it's strength and popularity.  

Taken as a tea in most regions, Mate comes in various forms.  The traditional chimarron, a mix of cut and powder that is drunk from a guard, is the most popular use within South America.  Terrere form is basically the same, but taken in summer as a cold tea. Green and Roasted Mate are more popular outside of South America, and are packed in loose bags or tins, or fine cut and put into traditional western tea bags.  

Mate is not just a beverage, it is a functional food, with a complex of alkaloids and saponins that act as potent anti-oxidants.  

Product is available in whole, cut, powder and extract forms. Our extract powder is standardized to ***1% caffeine and all products come in *0 - *5 kg drums, boxes or bags as is needed.
