What is TOPFINE® N*8
An amorphous (non-crystalline) silicon dioxide
consisting of perfectly spherical primary particles (**0 nm mean
dia).
It is inert, non-toxic and eco-friendly. It
will not decompose even in a fire.
TOPFINE® N*8 is readily dispersed in, and
compatible to most thermoplastics elastomers.
How does TOPFINE® N*8 work?
Flame retardancy:
TOPFINE® N*8
is a flame retardant synergist that improves the
char strength
and makes the flame retardant additives (ATH, MDH, ATO, APP, etc) work
more efficiently ， allowing a
reduction in the addition level of the
flame retardants.
Rheology:
TOPFINE® N*8
acts like sub-micron ball bearings, reducing the torque in mixing
(saving energy and may allow a higher filler loading). It can
reduce the buildup of plate out by lowering the friction against
the tooling in an extruder (better and a more uniform flow and
better surface). The ball bearing effect also helps to
disperse inorganic fillers and additives, making the compounds
more homogenous.
Dynamic fatigue:
TOPFINE® N*8
shows excellent
fatigue resistance, brings longer service life, brings lower risk
of failure, increasing more than *0% property of
fatigue resistance.
