1. Introduction:
Silica fume admixture, also called as micro silica, silica dust, which is a by-product of producing silicon metal or ferrosilicon alloys.
Silica fume consists primarily of amorphous (non-crystalline) silicon dioxide (SiO2). Because of its fine particles, large surface area,
 and the high SiO2 content,
silica fume is a very reactive pozzolan when used as concrete admixture. The quality of silica fume is specified by ASTM C ***0 and AASHTO M **7.
