Tools with carbide insert are mainly used in either soft ground or mixed grounds mechanized
boring. On soft ground boring, disc cutters and inserts are the primary cutters tools used
on the machine. While on mixed ground boring, tools with carbide insert are used together
with the roller cutter for a more effective boring.Most cutters are inserted with Tungsten for
performance, Tungsten is worn much slower that the cutter body.
Buckets, scrappers, knives, rippers are designed for soft ground excavation. Carbide inserts
are brazed for to increase performance. Finally they are hard faced with CCR, BCr, NbCr base
that provides high abrasion resistance in the most exposed areas of the loading tool, with a
hardness between *0 and *5 HRC.
