Product Description

Carbonless paper, also known as NCR (No Carbon Required) paper, uses a chemical reaction to create duplicates through the pressure of a pen or impact printer.

Functional Sheet Types

The system relies on three specific coatings that must be stacked in order:



* CB (Coated Back): The Top Sheet. The back is coated with micro-encapsulated dye.

* CFB (Coated Front and Back): The Middle Sheet(s). The front receives the image, and the back transfers it down.

* CF (Coated Front): The Bottom Sheet. The front is coated with reactive resin to "fix" the dye into a visible image.

* Basis Weights:

* Standard: *5 lb to *1 lb (approx. ***0 gsm).

   * Tag/Cardstock: Heavier *0 lb to **0 lb (approx. *****0 gsm) used for the final CF sheet in durable forms.

* Standard Dimensions:

* Cut Sheets: 8.5" x *1" (Letter), 8.5" x *4" (Legal), and *1" x *7" (Tabloid).

   * Rolls: Standard widths of 2.*5", 3", and 3.*5" for point-of-sale (POS) receipts.

   * Large Format: *3" x *5" or *2.5" x *4.5" for offset press printing.

* Standard Color Sequence:

* *-Part: White / Canary.

   * *-Part: White / Canary / Pink.

   * *-Part: White / Canary / Pink / Goldenrod.



Technical Properties



* Image Color: Available in Black (standard) or Blue (often used for original signatures).

* Printer Compatibility:

* Impact: Designed for dot-matrix or typewriter use.

   * Digital: Specifically treated "Digital NCR" is required for laser/LED printers to withstand fuser heat without damaging the capsules.

* Shelf Life: Unused paper typically lasts 2 years if stored in original packaging; images on signed forms remain legible for *0+ years
