Biohumuss ***0 Ltd as a legal entity has been formed not so long ago, however our team is built up of experienced professionals both in the fields of vermiculture and international trade. For those new to the concept of vermiculture, in short, it is worm farming. More specifically, it is a process where certain species of compost worms, in our case Eisenia fetida, are kept in appropriate conditions and fed a diet of organic compost and cattle manure, the result of which is an organic soil fertility aid, bio-humus (worm castings) and a significant increase in the population of worms themselves. Through years of experience, we have developed a highly cost effective production method that benefits from exceptional yields both in terms of bio-humus and worm population growth. This allows us to also offer worm products as a rich and natural source of protein, to be used as a supplement in animal, poultry and fish feeds, pharmaceutical industry and cosmetics. Therefore we are open to building wide range new, mutually beneficial relationships, be it in terms of trade of products, exchange of information and experience, or flow of capital. Biohumuss ***0 Ltd is the major founding member of Latvia's bio-humus and Red worm producers association. The association was founded to establish a new face to represent vermiculture professionals and enthusiasts in Latvia. The main objectives of the organisation are: Represent our members and their interests both locally and internationally. Set a standard for availability and quality of information, to our members and the general public, about the benefits and methodology of vermiculture. Further research and develop the field of vermiculture as a means to sustainable, environmentally conscious, organic agriculture, food production and waste management. We at Biohumuss ***0 Ltd strongly believe in a knowledgeable, professional and open-minded approach to doing things and understand that long term business relationships, built on bilateral trust, are the most important underlying factors for success. Therefore, we strive to achieve high quality standards in regards to our day to day internal procedures, partners and stakeholders.
