Snail Mucus Information
Kaltani’s Giant African Land Snails (GALS) produce snail mucus as a defense mechanism against predators. As the GALS protects itself, the slime is excreted and is packed with rich natural secretions that have proven medicinal properties that are used in various dermatologic conditions and products. Snail slime is a component of numerous skin products that provide many benefits to skin. It is particularly utilized to treat burns, wounds and also works as a topical anesthetic to reduce pain. All our snail mucus is either harvested on Kaltani’s farm.
 
Snail Mucus Benefits 
Kaltani’s snail mucus offers gradual reduction of fine deep wrinkles, addresses pre-mature ageing of the skin and offers hydration to moisturize and rejuvenate the skin. The Giant African Land Snails  (GALS) in Nigeria has two prominent species the “Achatina Achatina” and the “Achatina Margarita”.
