Rajah Group

Rajah Group was established by A. Abdul Kader Sahib in the year ***5. He started as a business venture manufacturing beedies with sales in Sri Lanka. The group also was involved in other businesses in Sri Lanka like trading in tobacco, printing business etc. Later due to changes in the foreign policies of the Sri Lankan Government, the group gave its businesses in Sri Lanka to the staffs of its Companies there & shifted its operations to India. The group gradually became a leading manufacturer of Beedies, employing directly & indirectly about *5, **0 people in India. Its products are in good demand in the states of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Maharastra. The group has received best taxpayer awards in the states of Kerala and Tamil Nadu. The group diversified into the businesses like Timber, Terracotta tiles, Ayurveda, Automobiles, Tea, Salt etc. The group is also involved in the tourism-related business and owns a scenic Island on the backwaters of Chettuva, Kerala, which functions as an Ayurvedic Hospital. A similar Ayurvedic Treatment Center is also run on a ***-acre land in Kootanad, Palakkad district of Kerala. It also runs a Ayurvedic Spa, christened Rajah Beach, in a *5 acres private beach, situated in Akalad near the groups home town - Chavakkad. Rajah School, a CBSC school associated with the group offers quality education to more than ***0 students. The group manufactures several Ayurvedic products, most of which are used exclusively by the guests at its Ayurvedic centers. Some of its products are marketed outside. Besides these the group also manufactures Kajah Tea, Kajah Iodized Salt, Activated Carbon, Grow bags for agricultural purposes, etc The Automobile wing of the group KMPL manufactured the first MPV of the country. The product had to be discontinued due to components sourcing problems. The automobile wing was also involved in the designing and manufacture of Go-karts for fantasy parks and Go-karting arenas & later got into 3 Wheeler load carrier vehicles in collaboration with a Chinese company, which was later discontinued when the Chinese company closed down. Although now KMPL is not so active, the group still does many developments in the Automobile field including Motorsports.
