COMPANY PROFILE
RELL & RENN FISHING CORPORATION (RRFC) was established on 5 September ***7 and started as a small family-owned deep sea fishing operation with only one set of vessels composed of a mother fishing boat, two fish carriers and four light boats. To-date, it has over **0 vessels operating within the Philippine Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) and international waters to support its deep sea fishing operations.
R&R is primarily engaged in fresh and frozen fish operations able to source its own supply of tuna and related tuna species (yellow fin, skipjack, bullet), round scad, big-eyed scad, golden pompano, and octopus among others. It is also currently into culture and pond management of milkfish, tilapia and shrimps (Vanamei). R&R is a key player in supplying tuna and its related species to the tuna canneries and processors of the Philippines and the local wet market of Mindanao.
In ***2, the company built its own ice plant, wharf, and electro-mechanical shop to support its fishing operations under a new entity RRCS MARINE & INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION (RRCS MIDC). Not only does it employ the latest and upgraded vessels for fresh and frozen fish operations, R&R is also equipped with state-of-the-art equipment for its 1,**0MT capacity cold storages, chiller rooms, contact freezers and blast freezers ensuring that the seafood products it produces are always fresh, safe and meets strict quality standards.
In ***5, R&R setup the processing facility RELL & RENN SEAFOOD SPHERE, INC. (RRSSI), to cater to the growing demand for frozen seafood serving the premium markets of Japan, Canada and the USA in the world market. At present, the company can deliver seafood in various forms – fresh, frozen, brined or processed. With the EU accreditation of its processing facility, the company is now ready to serve the European market.
In ***7, R&R put up another plant, PRIME KATSUOBUSHI PHILIPPINES, INC. (PKPI) to produce high quality smoked fish (Katsuobushi) for the international market. Katsuobushi is the Japanese name for the preparation of dried, fermented and smoked tuna. This Japanese-designed processing facility encompasses functionality and operations comparable to Katsuobushi plants based in Japan ensuring the production of top of the line products, which conform to stringent quality standards and are then exported to various parts of Japan.
In ***1, RELL & RENN FISHING (PNG) LTD. was established with principal place of business at Papua New Guinea. This incorporation marked a milestone in the RRFC Group of Companies as this is the first venture outside the Philippines and paved the way for the company to have an emerging presence in the important Pacific Region of Papua New Guinea. PNG waters account for *2% of the World Tuna supply and *4% of the Western and Central Pacific Ocean (WCPO) catch. RRFPNG Ltd. commenced its first commercial shipping operation in PNG waters on 1 December ***1. Its vessels are being manned by Filipino and Papua New Guinea nationals. It aims to offload **0% of its catch to PNG tuna canneries and processors.
With the continued expansion of its fishing operations, the R&R Group of Companies decided to venture into distribution and retail operations bringing its products closer to consumers and at more affordable prices. iFRESH CORPORATION, with office located at ***1 Jollibee Plaza, Ortigas, Pasig City was recently established for this purpose. Soon it will be operating butcher shops offering a wide variety of seafood and its complementary products all over the Philippine domestic market.
