When it comes to the higher temperatures, its strength is
generally lower than that of other solid solution strengthened
alloys. Inconel **5 has good oxidation resistance at temperatures
up to **0℃ and shows good resistance to aqueous corrosion, but
Inconel **5 is relatively moderate compared with other corrosion
resistant alloys.
Applications:
Chemical process industry and sea water application. Inconel **5
is used in short term applications at temperatures up to **6℃.
For long term service, it is best restricted to a maximum of
**3℃, because of the long term exposure above **3℃，It will result
in significant embrittlement.
