 DESCRIPTION: Chlorinated polyethylene is called "CPE" for short. It is made from high-density polyethylene and chlorine. Its appearance is white powder. It is used as PVC impact modifier for PVC profile and PVC pipe.  WORKING MECHANISM : It has been found by the researches that PVC has weak low-temperature impact strength due to its strong intermolecular force. When PVC products are impacted by external force, it is difficult to displace PVC's molecules to transform that impact into internal friction heat, so PVC material is easy to be break up. And traditional CPE has weak low-temperature impact strength due to its high glass temperature and weak dispersibility. Moreover, the thermal stabilizer for PVC is not compatible to CPE, so the CPE in PVC is easy to decompose, and the CPE modified PVC products has low thermal stability. Therefore, the key to improve PVC's impact strength is to reduce PVC's intermolecular force  APPLICATION CPE has a dual property of plastics and rubber, so it is quite compatible with both of them. CPE is mostly used with plastics or rubber except that little is used as base materials. When used with plastics, it acts as modifier. CPE is mainly used as impact modifier in UPVC products, to improve impact strength and low-temperature property. As modifier. CPE could be used with rubber to improve its properties, such as fire-resistance, insulation and anti-ageing.
