Stereo Network Rotating Biological Contactor (RBC)

1.     Process Principal:

DA Stereo Network Rotating Biological Contactor (RBC) with a special structure of stereo network purifies wastewater by biofilm on the rotating disc. In the process of operation, the slow rotating disc (around *0% of the disc is under water) continuously absorbs the oxygen from air and adsorbs the pollutants in water to degrade the pollutants. Microorganism renewal is accelerated through the slow rotation of the disc, which ensures the high efficiency of biofilm for water treatment.

2.     Technical Advantages:

a) Large specific area

A special structure of stereo network is adopted, by which the specific area is enlarged (5 times higher than traditional RBC). The RBC can treat high strength organic wastewater, and the denitrification rate is also high.

b)Low energy consumption and low noise production.

There is no need of air blower for aeration, only minimal power is required to keep slow rotation of the disc. The consumed energy is normally *0% of the energy used in traditional process. The running cost is reduced greatly and the generated noise is low.

c) Strong anti-shock loading capability

This RBC is adaptive to the fluctuations of water quality and quantity, is stable in operation, and is not easy for sludge bulking.

d)Less excess sludge production

The shearing force between water and disc generated by slow and homogenous rotation of biodisc in water can remove the excess biofilm continuously and homogeneously to ensure the high efficiency of biofilm. The generated excess sludge is low, which protects the disc gaps from blockage.

e)   Good performance in ventilation and oxygenation

The porosity of biological rotating disc is approximately *5%. The wastewater and air are able to flow in/out freely through mesh structure for ventilation and oxygenation.

f)Environmental friendly without stinky smell and filter fly generation

The generated stinky smell is mainly caused by the existing of a large quantity of nitrogen and sulfur contained chemical compounds in wastewater. The special structure of the disc is suitable for nitrogen/sulfur based microorganisms' living and breeding. These nitrogen/sulfur based microorganisms with strong adsorbability and coagulability are able to degrade the stinky chemical compounds. The biofilm renewal is fast and falls off easily, so that few fly is produced.

g)       The RBC is flexible in operation, is convenient for maintenance, and is capable of modular design.

Our RBC can treat the conventional domestic sewage and industrial high-concentration wastewater to meet the national discharge standard. The RBC can be designed with steel or concrete structure as required. The concrete structure can be designed based on the practical situation.
