Vulcan Green Spray General Characteristics

Washes are applied to cores and molds as an insulating and protective coating that peels the sand from the metal and produces a better casting finish. Factors influencing the selection of a wash include type of sand used, type of metal, coverage desired, method of application and the liquid selected as the carrier for the wash.

Design: Developed to improve the surface of castings by spraying on green sand cores and molds. Designed for production foundries, but effective for any size process.
Base: Carbon base
Bond: Soft to medium bond
Suspension: Good suspension characteristics

Suggested Applications Casting: Grey Iron, Ductile Iron, and Non-ferrous castings.
Sand Systems: Green sand.
Application Technique: Designed for spraying, but can be dipped or brushed on Cores and Molds. Advantages - Resistant to metal penetration
