Washes are applied to cores and molds as an insulating and protective coating that peels the sand from the metal and produces a better casting finish. Factors influencing the selection of a wash include type of sand used, type of metal, coverage desired, method of application and the liquid selected as the carrier for the wash.

Design: Developed for extremely difficult hot spots such as gating areas.

Suggested Applications Casting: Grey Iron and Ductile Iron castings. In Non-ferrous metal manufacturing, it is particularly effective in the production of brass and bronze castings.
Sand Systems: Effective in any sand system.
Application Technique: Sprayed, brushed, flow coated on Cores and Molds. Advantages - Provides a shinier casting finish
